Mazzoni & Karam is honored to have achieved an AV peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell.

Martindale-Hubbell is a highly regarded resource for information on lawyers and law firms.  An integral part of Martindale-Hubbell's legal resources is its lawyer and law firm rating system.  Ratings attest to a lawyer's and law firm's legal ability and professional ethics and reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary. Ratings are established by lawyers for lawyers.

The highest and most prestigious rating a lawyer or law firm may attain is an AV rating.  An AV rating shows that a lawyer has reached the height of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest level of skills and integrity.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Attorney Paul R. Mazzoni, the founding member of Mazzoni & Karam, was twice elected as District Attorney of Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania.  In this position as the county's Chief Law Enforcement Officer Mazzoni personally handled and oversaw thousands of criminal cases.

CHIEF PUBLIC DEFENDER

After serving as an Assistant Public Defender for 4 years the County Commissioners of Lackawanna County saw fit to promote Attorney Gerard M. Karam to the position of the county's Chief Public Defender.  In both of these positions Karam personally handled and oversaw thousands of criminal cases.
